The SMUS Conference Brazil 2022 will offer 12 Advanced Methods (AM) Courses free of charge. Conference participants who successfully enrol for the AM Courses will have the opportunity to get in touch with the methodological expertise with which researchers from the social and spatial sciences in Latin America have been addressing some of the most poignant social issues in the region today.
There will be two formats:

- Long AM Courses (2 sessions à 3 hours each – total: 6 hours) will take place respectively on Conference Day 1 (08.09.2022) from 17:30 to 20:30 (BRT) and on Conference Day 3 (10.09.2022) from 15:45 to 18:45 (BRT). If applicable, in the meantime participants will accomplish a kind of empirical homework regarding the methodological content conveyed in Session 1, and this homework will be discussed with the Trainers/Trainer Teams in Session 2. Maximum number of participants: 25.
- Short AM Courses (1 session à 3 hours – total: 3 hours) will take place on Conference Day 2 (09.09.2022) from 18:15 to 21:15 (BRT). Maximum number of participants: 50.

English, Portuguese and bilingual (depending on the Trainer Team).
