Biography: Andreas is an urbanist and urbanite living and working in Berlin, with practice and academic experience in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East. He was a co-applicant for the GCSMUS and is a member of the steering committee. Andreas is also the Managing Director at K LAB (a Partner of the Berlin University Alliance BUA). K LAB is a laboratory for urban communication and is mainly concerned with the visualisation and communication of urban design and planning, including urban data analysis (GIS) and urban design planning strategies and their methods & tools.

Prior to K LAB, Andreas held the Professorship for Urban Planning at Dessau Institute of Architecture (DIA) (Acting Chair in 2018/19), worked as a senior researcher (Post-Doc) at the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society & Space (IRS) (2017), and was a researcher and lecturer at TU-Berlin’s Chair of Urban Design & Urban Development (Prof. Million), Institut for Urban & Regional Planning (ISR) (2011-2017).
