Biography: Prof. Dr. Ognen Marina is an Architect with a PhD in Architecture and Urbanism, and is Dean and a Professor at the Faculty of Architecture at “SS. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje, North Macedonia. His main field of interest is novel strategies in architecture. He is particularly interested in urban transformation and urban innovation processes through hybridisation in the context of transitional societies. Furthermore, he is active in promoting novel tools in the development of urban environments that could enhance citizens’ participation and cooperation with decision-makers and designers. He has authored several papers and books related to the analysis, assessment and modelling of urban development and its impact on cities and society. Additionally, he is also a coordinator and member of several Horizon 2020 Programme research projects and scientific networks, exploring the new social challenges of the urban environment and developing digital tools for spatial analysis of urban change.
