Masemote Grace Molale was born in Mafeteng, Lesotho in 1985. She obtained her BA degree in Sociology and Anthropology in 2009 and her MSc in Sociology in 2011, both from the National University of Lesotho. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at the University of Free State in the Republic of South Africa. Previously, she has worked as a social and environmental safeguard specialist at Mafube consulting. She mainly supervised social and environmental impact studies for small and large projects, and environmental and social auditing of projects. She has competently served clients such as the World Bank, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Lesotho Highlands Development Authority and Government Ministries. In 2016, she joined the National University of Lesotho, where she holds the position of lecturer in the Department of Historical Studies. Her responsibilities currently include teaching sociology, anthropology, cultural heritage and environmental history courses, undertaking administrative duties, research and community work. She has been undertaking consultancy work as a social research expert with clients such ILO, UNDP, SolidarMed and Government Ministries. Furthermore, she has presented her research work and engaged in debates with other scholars at several conferences. Her research work heavily draws from socioeconomic issues, gender issues, community development, research methodology and environmental areas. She is currently a member of the Committee of Anthropology Southern Africa association.
