Biography: Khumo Motshwari is a full-time PhD Sociology student at Universitat Augsburg, Germany. She has a Master of Arts in Development Studies (2015 – 2017), Postgraduate Diploma in Education (2018) and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and English (2010 – 2014). She has worked as a researcher at the Botswana Crime Research Institute, and as a teacher at Botlhale Cambridge International School.
She was enrolled in the Government of Botswana Graduate Voluntary Scheme and has a post at the Ministry of Basic Education as an administration officer.
Additionally, she was a research assistant to a lecturer at the University of Botswana who was doing a study on ‘Understanding Experiences of Caregivers of Children with Cerebral Palsy in Gaborone Botswana’. In 2010 she also worked as a volunteer at the University of Botswana Environmental Conservation Society.
Upon completing her studies, she hopes to apply her knowledge of deviance and space in Botswana. Her interest areas are juvenile delinquency, deviance, and public and private schools’ safety as public spaces.
