Biography: Khannaphaphone Phakhounthong was born in Vientiane, Laos. She completed her bachelor’s in Architecture at the National University of Laos (NUOL) after which, she received a prestigious DAAD scholarship to pursue her master’s in Germany. She successfully completed her Master of Arts in heritage and urban studies at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in Germany, where she analyzed the impact of modernization in the historic town of Luang Prabang, Laos. Since 2016, she has been engaged in lecturing and conducting research at the Faculty of Architecture, NUOL. At present, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in South-east Asian studies at Humboldt University.
