Biography: Dr. Phanchung is the Director-General of the Department of Research and External Relations at the Royal University of Bhutan. He has previously served as an Assistant Professor, Dean of Academic Affairs, Principal and Head of Department at the University.
He is a veterinarian by profession and is closely associated with rural development in Bhutan. Phanchung has a PhD degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia, an MSc degree from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and a bachelor degree from India. He is the Managing Editor of the Bhutan Journal of Research and Development and a member of the National Committee of Bhutan to Climate Change Coordination Committee. He also serves on several other committees and boards within the university. Dr. Phanchung is passionate about higher education and research in Bhutan and actively facilitates collaborations with research institutions and universities worldwide.
