Biography: Jacques du Toit is an Associate Professor in the Department of Town and Regional Planning, University of Pretoria. He is also a registered professional planner with a PhD in Social Science Methods and an NRF rating. His substantive research interest is in urban sustainability, particularly water-sensitive urban design and planning, and his procedural research interest is in the planning research–practice nexus, particularly evidence-informed practice. He teaches policy analysis and research methodology, coordinates final-year research report and mini-dissertation projects, and serves on various institutional and faculty-level committees. Part time he also conducts applied research.
