On 01st of June began the third regional campus, the SMUS LATIN AMERICA REGIONAL CAMPUS 2026 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The programme consisted of a series of lectures and several field visits to the areas affected by the May 2024 floods in Porto Alegre. Guest researchers from various disciplines also took part, complementing the perspectives offered by the this interdisciplinary campus.
The Campus has taken place from 01st-05th June 2026. The activity focused on developing the concept of Ec(h)otoning, through projects carried out by teams from the Universities of Xalapa (Mexico) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Chile), as well as the host university.
